Solar Energy

This is a homework assignment I did in High School for Living Environment in February 2011 on solar energy.

Solar Power is a conversion of sunlight into electricity, which is used for a variety of reasons such as converting it into a heat source for power plants. It can also be used to track the Sun and focus light for various natural resources. Concentrating Solar Power is used with a collection of lenses or mirrors in order to systematically focus a large area of sunlight into a small beam. Solar Power is extremely efficient because it can drastically improve the quality of life on our planet. Converting the energy from the sun and using it to effect plants, life, technology, and other forms of human sustainment is a great way to improve the economy and our society in general. It is one of the cleanest methods of energy production. However there is some speculation as to the problems it can bring. For one, it is very expensive. This can cause solar power to be very limiting in its use. Also, a solar panel in itself is considered inefficient and only works best when used together in groups. Solar Power is best in use when it’s sunny outside because of the manipulation of the Suns energy. Solar Power is not available at night, whichcancausestorageproblems. Personally,IthinkSolarPowerisexcellentandhighly efficient. I also think it’s great that there’s no carbon dioxide in use like most factories and cars that pollute the earth. I think the cost and limitations of Solar Power only makes sense, because it is a strong and efficient source of energy. Solar Power is an extraordinary alternative energy source that the entire world can benefit from. In fact, we can even use solar power on other planets should we ever need to one day.
